Ireland have been in and out of Eurovision Memories for quite a while now.
Only recently, I have taken over Ireland in the contest, and I have no idea whoever did Ireland before me!!
Here is a list of the past Irish entries, and our positions from the contest.!

EM 03 - #th place
Leona Lewis - "I Got You"
This entry wasn't submitted by myself and talks with Florin have indicated that Leona should NOT have been entered for Ireland, as she is not Irish born!!!!
Still, a great song (whoever submitted it), but it should have been disqualified!

EM 09 - #th place
Jedward - "Bad Behaviour"
This entry, yet again, wasn't submitted by myself, but it's the 'one and only' Jedward.
After their Eurovision 2011 *success*, they were entered for EM 09 with this catchy, typical pop-style Jedward number

EM 11 - Did not qualify
Wonderland - "Starlight"
This was my first entry for Ireland in Eurovision Memories.
The lovely girl-band, Wonderland was entered, but the rest of Europe didn't enjoy their song!
They failed to advance from the second semi-final.

EM 12 - #th place
Imelda May - "Mayhem"
This edition, I chose the rather risky entry of Mayhem by the brilliant Imelda May.
She was well received by Europe, and advanced to the final (Only through Second Chance though!!!)
I've had a few recent requests to bring her back in the next edition, but we will see!!!

Nikki Kavanagh - "Sacred Fortune"
This edition, I took another risk and brought a relatively unknown singer, called Nikki Kavanagh.
With her ballad song and unofficial video (a series of photographs, no actual video) she did VERY well.
This song advanced straight to the final and (I believe, will have to check) this was our best placing to date.

Nikki Kavanagh - "Falling"
Oh dear. Probably the best thing to say here. From the success of EM 13, I decided to bring Nikki back with her Eurovision song that VERY nearly represented Ireland at Eurovision 2011, but lost out to Jedward.
I was confident in this song, but clearly Europe didn't agree, and she failed to make the final!

EM 15 - 1st place
Enya - "Only Time"
WOOO! From not advancing to the final at EM 14, Ireland FINALLY had its first WIN at Eurovision Memories.
Winning by a small margin of votes over the United Kingdom's entry, Enya and her rather *old* song, Only Time triumphed.
I was honestly not expecting this win whatsoever, and it was a wonderful surprise. After not advancing to the final on previous editions, it really does show that quality singers really can win this contest, no matter how old the song is.
This entry ALSO won the "Best Video Clip Award" and the "Best Voice Award".
This is clearly Irelands best entry to date, and Enya *may* be back again in the near future - so watch out Europe!!!!

EM 16 - 15th place
Lisa Hannigan - "What'll I Do"
I was very disappointed by the results of this entry. Lisa Hannigan's What'll I Do was a very happy upbeat and catchy song. As we won EM 15, we advanced automatically to the final, to come in at joint 15th place with Russia.
Either lack of playing (due to advancing automatically) or perhaps because this wasn't a stand out entry, we lost lost amidst the fantastic Italy and Swedish entries.

EM 17 - #th place
The Script - "The Man Who Can't Be Moved"
This edition for the first time used this website and a National Final. With different artists from Enya, Two Door Cinema Club, The Script, Imelda May and Nikki Kavanagh, Europe decided who should represent Ireland at EM 17. The Script, a VERY well known pop-rock-indie style band triumphed with the fantasticly heartfelt *Man Who Can't Be Moved* sung by the gorgeous Danny O'Donoghue
Whilst we are still waiting for the results of EM 17, I hope that we pass to the final and do very well!

Westlife - "You Raise Me Up"
After the new rule change regarding covers and bands, this meant I could NOT use the Wanted, so I was really unhappy. But also with this rule change, it meant I could enter one of my favourite songs *ever*. You Raise Me Up by Westlife. I think it's their best song. Beautiful meaningful lyrics - I hope this does well! x
